It was fantastic to be joined by one of our future leaders, Yuna from @rangitoto_college , who we sponsored to attend the 34th Rotary National Science and Technology Forum held in Auckland from 6 – 20 January 2024.
The Forum is for students in Year 12 at a New Zealand Secondary School who are passionate about science, mathematics, or technology. It is an exhilarating two weeks filled with unique experiences, opportunities to learn from the best, friendships with fellow nerds, visits to universities, and exploration of various scientific and technological fields.
Yuna said:
‘ I am so thankful to East Coast Bays Rotary Club for allowing me to experience this prized opportunity. I wouldn’t have learned so many lessons, both in modules and socially, and I wouldn’t have learned more about myself if it hadn’t been for this amazing program. I will always appreciate the support, as it was a moment I will remember forever!
I hope more passionate students learn about the Rotary organisation and have opportunities like me because it was spectacular!’
The Forum is a project managed by the Rotary Clubs of New Zealand and operates as a Trust. The Trust works closely with Auckland University, the Auckland University of Technology (AUT), and Massey University to provide the academic leadership, lectures, and accommodation for this fully immersive two-week program.
