It was fantastic to have a formal introduction to Clara at our last club meeting.
“Hej, jag heter Clara. Jag är sjutton år och jag kommer från Sverige”. (“Hello, my name is Clara, I am seventeen years old and I come from Sweden”.)
Clara told us about her home country of Sweden, with a population of 10.4 million and its capital, Stockholm. Clara is from Nyköping, which is south of Stockholm. In 1317, King Birger of Sweden captured his two younger brothers and imprisoned them in the Nyköping Fortress. The symbol of the town is a key that represents their imprisonment.
Clara introduced us to her family: Dad, Guilherme, Mum Malin, and Sister Isabella. Guilherme from Brazil and Malin from Sweden met while on RYE in America.
Clara told us about her education in Sweden and that she greatly enjoyed her humanities studies.
Whilst in New Zealand, Clara is keen to visit Museums, Art Galleries, Mine Bay Rock Carvings, and Hobbiton and learn about Māori culture.
